I am running to serve as Village of Olympia Fields Trustee. My husband and I moved to Olympia Fields in 2019 after thirteen years in the City of Chicago. We have two little girls and are deeply invested in upholding and improving our community.
As a city planner and landscape architect with 20 years of award-winning international, national, and local experience, I have dedicated my career to creating cities and public spaces that truly serve the people who live in them. I lead complex teams of architects, engineers, contractors and municipalities to transition conceptual visions into successful projects. My approach emphasizes early, frequent, and ongoing engagement with the local community to ensure successful outcomes and I will bring this commitment to understanding and responding to the needs and desires of our residents to the role of Trustee. My professional experience and expertise uniquely enables me to provide insight, guidance and strategic leadership for some of the most pressing needs of our community: urban revitalization such as the former Jewel Osco Corner and Vollmer Corridor, stormwater management, and street / utility improvements.
Strong relationships built on trust, transparency, and collaboration are at the heart of a thriving community. I will work to build trust by establishing further means of community engagement and truly listen to our residents, strengthen partnerships with neighboring villages, and pursue opportunities together to facilitate our shared vision for a thriving and sustainable Southland.
Since moving here, I have been actively engaged in the Southland community. I serve on the advisory board for the Southland Equity Initiative (SEI), an organization committed to fostering economic empowerment and development in our region. I am also a founding member of the Southland Collective of Mid-Century Modern, which focuses on preserving, enhancing, and raising awareness of the area’s unique architectural heritage. I contribute to my HOA landscape committee, where I lead “Garden Chats,” educational gatherings that provide gardening knowledge and foster connections among neighbors.
From visionary large-scale plans with SEI to small but impactful local projects, my dedication to our community is resolute. I am committed to bringing my experience, dedication, and collaborative spirit to the role of Trustee to make Olympia Fields an even better place to live, work, and thrive. Your support is vital, and I look forward to the opportunity to serve our village with integrity, transparency, and a shared vision for a brighter future.
